Vanessa McPake had the bin emptied and the litter collected at the Abbeydore play area, Monkston. “These bins must be emptied more often!” she said.
Bouncing the Rubbish!
We expect to find the odd discarded toy – but Cllr Vanessa McPake was amazed to find a trampoline discarded in Walton Park recently! And nearby, Cllr Jenni Ferrans found the dog bin being used as a litter bin too! The Focus team have asked for both to be cleared.
Not Such Rubbish!
The Lib Dems have just got a litter bin installed by the well used bus shelter in Dunchurch Dale, Walnut Tree. Local residents have said “well done”.
Collect our Rubbish
That’s the message from the Lib Dem Focus team to the Tory-run MK Council.
Residents say, “We pay our Council tax, why is the rubbish in bin stores and from broken sacks not being collected?”
The Lib Dem Focus Team has asked the Council to inspect the store at Birdlip Lane flats, and to make sure teams clear up when sacks burst.
Litter – We Need Action!
The Lib Dem team collect more litter in the playground at Pipston Green, Kents Hill.
They have now asked the Parish Council to install a litter bin for kids and families to use.
Graffiti Blitz
Residents have complained about graffiti being left for months at a time.
The Lib Dem Focus team reported a lot of graffiti a few weeks ago for Tory-run MK Council to remove – and finally, it has been cleared! “Why do they leave it so long?” asked the Lib Dems campaigners. These are some of the worst examples in Monkston Park and Kents Hill, now cleared.
Broken Signs
On the case. The Lib Dem Focus team continues to report broken signs. The Lib Dem Focus team 1st reported this one in Crowborough Lane, Kents Hill, 6 months ago! The Council fixed all the others near by but not this one which is in danger of falling over on cars! It was eventually fixed recently after Cllr Subhan Shafiq reminded the Council – for the fourth time!
Come on Tory-run MK Council! Fix the keep-left signs on our major roundabouts. The one on Walton roundabout was hit months ago and is still not repaired!
If you spot any road signs that are faulty please let the Lib Dem Focus team know.
Lib Dems Working for You – Pensions
The Lib Dems in Government are giving pensioners the freedom to access and control their pensions. They will no longer have to invest in an annuity that may not be right for them.
And the Lib Dems have increased the state pension by £650 since 2010, thanks to our ‘triple lock’ rule (it must always rise with inflation, earnings or 2.5% – whichever is highest).
All Change – Bus Changes
Bus user, Vanessa McPake, says “Watch Out” as the new bus timetable comes in on 27th April. She is an active member of the MK Bus Users Group and has been checking out the changes for local residents.
No 8 bus route has a revised timetable; you may have to change in CMK if going westwards. Sunday services end earlier and will now be run by Arriva.
No 9 bus route – no change.
Nos 11/12 bus routes – some route changes with no buses to the hospital.
