Greenery – Cutting Back at Last!

After months of problems, ignored by MK Council, some greenery is finally being cut back.  Please let us know if any areas have been missed.

Rubbish Day

Reminder: do put your rubbish out by 7.00am on the day of collection, or late the night before.  Please don’t miss your collection day! The rubbish bags can be attacked by wildlife and can attract rats.

If you’re not sure what can go in the different containers, or need a new blue box or green bin, the details are on the Council website at http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/waste-recycling.

Lib Dem Success

Cllr. Subhan Shafiq reported the broken wooden fencing along Lichfield Down, Walnut Tree and thanks to pressure from the Lib Dem Focus team it is now fixed at the key junction with Hockliffe Brae.

Vanessa McPake has also reported the other stretch of broken fencing along Lichfield Down, near the shop and the school and been told it too will shortly be fixed, once parts arrive.

A Way Through

After years of residents forging their own path from Balmerino in Monkston over to Middleton and Broughton, a proper footpath will finally be created.

Cllr Jenni Ferrans says “The Focus team have been campaigning for this path for years, but we got nowhere with the developers.  Now at last the land is in the hands of the Parish Council and they have agreed.”

Kents Hill and Monkston Parish Council has decided to surface the footpath down the side of the allotments. And they’ve finally got permission from the Parks Trust to extend the extra few metres over Parks Trust land to meet up with the redway going to Middleton and Broughton.

Bollard Chaos!

Vanessa McPake had been told by Tory run MK Council that the loose bollard in Luttermarsh, Walton Park was fixed.  Cleary it had not been yet!  And it was the same story in Monkston, where Jenni Ferrans was told the Flaxley Gate bollards had been fixed.  Jenni has asked the Council to investigate what it’s contractors are doing!

Landcape Problems – and Success!

In Monkston, Jenni Ferrans and Vanessa McPake got the overhanging branches cut back so you don’t get hit when walking along Blanchland Circle.

But in Kents Hill it was a different story.  Vanessa McPake and Subhan Shafiq took out their secateurs in Eridge Green, Kents Hill to cut back the dangerous brambles after the Council said that keeping the path open was “not a priority”!
