LibDem MEP Catherine Bearder visited Milton Keynes recently and discussed the benefits of being in the EU. The EU has helped fund 44,000 jobs in Bucks and Milton Keynes since 2010, and many MK companies do most of their business with the EU.

The new Monkston ward will cover:
Monkston Park, Monkston, Kents Hill, Walton Grange, Walton Park and Walnut Tree.
The Danesborough and Walton ward will cover:
Wavendon Gate, Old Farm Park, Browns Wood, Caldecotte, Wavendon, Woburn Sands, Bow Brickhill and Little Brickhill.
The proposals will go before Parliament for confirmation in the autumn.
Update on Walton Park Reserved Site
Your local Lib Dem Focus team has just heard from the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA) that they have agreed a developer for the site on the corner of Chase Avenue and Limbaud Close.
The good news is that the agreement is for just 5 detached houses (you may recall the original proposal was for up to 10).
Your Lib Dem Focus team has already raised your concerns about road access and the possible destruction of the trees.
We have been told that consultation with residents will start late August and we will keep you posted on progress and ensure you are all consulted.
No Play Here
Cllrs. Subhan Shafiq and Jenni Ferrans are getting the broken play equipment repaired in the Parkminster play area, Monkston. Some items now have to be ordered from Sweden after the UK supplier stopped trading a few years ago.
Timetable Fiasco
Vanessa McPake helped residents at Kingston as the Tory run Council put up the wrong timetables when they cut bus services recently! She got them fixed. The cuts and the new bus times are hurting lots of residents in our area. Lib Dems want to reinstate your lost services.
Kingston Library – Have Your Say
MK Council are starting to design the new Kingston Library on the site of the old Tavern Pub. Residents are invited to take part in community workshops so you can have your say.
For example: How much space for a toddlers area, for computers or displays? Do you want space for meetings or advice sessions?
What is prioritised will depend on what you say so please do take part.
The nearest workshops to you will be on:
- Tuesday, 16 July from 7-8pm at Walton High, Fyfield Barrow, Walnut Tree, MK7 7WH
- Saturday, 20 July from 2-2.30pm at Oakgrove Leisure Centre, Venturer Gate, Middleton, MK10 9JQ

Keep it Clean!
Vanessa McPake, Subhan Shafiq and Jenni Ferrans were doing their bit to clean up play areas recently near Bridlington Crescent, Monkston. Residents are asking why the mess is so much worse than when the LibDems ran the Council.
Cleaning up the Mess
Jenni Ferrans and Vanessa McPake have had the dog mess removed from Birdlip Lane, between Kents Hill and Walnut Tree.
Vanessa McPake has got this lot removed from the footpath opposite Bartholomew Close, Walton Park. She is now working to get a bin put in.
If you have a problem with dog mess near you, please let us know roughly what time of day the mess appears as that will help Council officers to catch the offenders.
Pavement Hazards
Vanessa McPake has been getting the Council to fix pavements across Walnut Tree. if there are dangerous pavements near you, please let us know.
Traffic? What Traffic?
Subhan Shafiq has asked the Council to cut back the bushes on the V10 as drivers coming out of Dunchurch Dale, Walnut Tree have their vision blocked by the bushes on the left.
